A-League Team by Team Guide and Best Bets

It’s crazy to think that the new season A-League kicks off in just a few days time so in this article we've taken a look at the futures bets for all 10 teams in the 2018/19 season that gets underway with Adelaide United hosting Sydney FC at Coopers Stadium on Friday, October 19th.

Foxtel will be showing all games live via Fox Sports, and Network Ten will broadcast one match per week for free-to-air coverage on Saturday nights as well as all finals games live and free.

Melbourne Victory were crowned A-League champions last season after beating the Newcastle Jets 1-0 away from home. They entered the finals in fourth place but with an organisation and discipline that served them well against the top sides they went all the way. While they lose top goalscorer Besart Berisha. they have signed Japanese star Keisuke Honda and Swedish striker Ola Toivonen and that is some statement of their ambitions this season. Bet Melbourne Victory $4.25.

Best Bet Melbourne Victory Champions $4.25

It’s scary for the rest of the league to hear that Sydney FC have been busy making some impressive recruiting including Daniel De Silva, Adam le Fondre and Siem de Jong. They may have lost their manager Graham Arnold in the offseason but new manager Steve Corica has the feel good factor around the club and he’s more than good enough to shoulder the responsibility so no worries there. Losing 2-3 in extra time in last seasons semi final to their rivals Melbourne Victory was a bitter blow and something their fans won't forget for quite a few years. Bet Sydney FC $3.00.

Difficult not to be optimistic over Central Coast Mariners this season. With Mike Mulvey in charge the club will be so much more prepared. The additions of Tommy Oar and Ross McCormack will be fabulously popular and if they can live up to the hype the side will be interesting to watch, purely because the team has a chance to make it into the last 6 at fantastic value. Bet Central Coast Mariners $41.

Best Bet Central Coast Mariners Top 6 $2.88

Could this be the season City fans forget about the loss to the Jets that knocked them out of the finals last season? Well, they have a very good squad with Bart Schenkenveld, Osama Malik and new recruit Ritchie De Laet and at least Scottish import Michael O’Halloran has got his injury in early. Riley McGree , Florin Berenguer and the Uruguayan captain Bruno Fornaroli should all help results to materialise and pose a real threat to the league this season. Bet Melbourne City $5.00.

Kenny Lowe out, Tony Popovic in and the fans out West are hoping for great things. Popovic was the man to pick the lock at Western Sydney taking them to three Grand Finals in four seasons so come on Popovic make it happen!  The most obvious weak link has been conceding goals for the last two seasons but an overhaul at the back end of the pitch suggests fans could be celebrating a climb up the ladder and who knows maybe a top four spot this season. Bet Perth Glory $9.50.

What will Western Sydney Wanderers achieve under new manager Markus Babbel? Winless from round 2 to round 10 last season we think they'll be in a battle, but we think they'll come out of it alright this season. Retaining Oriel Reira has blown away the gloom and the additions of Nick Fitzgerald, Ruon Tongyik, Bruce Kamau and German duo Alexander Baumjohann and Patrick Ziegler makes for a fresh start. Anything could happen! Bet Western Sydney Wanderers $9.50.

Best Bet Western Sydney Wanderers Top 6 $1.30

The Newcastle Jets were one step behind the winners last season which is quite possibly the worst place of all so what can they do? Try harder! It's not going to be easy having lost Pato Rodriguez and Riley McGree to Melbourne City (via Club Brugge) and Jack Duncan to Al-Qadsia which their fans can't be happy about but they do have Brazilian forward Jair and the return of Ronald Vargas but is it enough to take the League by storm? Back Newcastle Jets $11.

Brisbane Roar were missing some pieces last season so they have brought in a lot of talent with new signings Adam Taggart, Stefan Mauk, Tobias Mikkelsen and Spanish midfielder Alex Lopez who are all expected to be enough to keep this team up. Last Season – 6th Place, losing their Elimination Final to Melbourne City 2-0 unless they can produce goals this is something similar to what they may have to face again this campaign. Back Brisbane Roar $15.

The Reds were right in towards the end of last season qualifying for the finals and they've added nice pieces like the attacking duo of Mirk Boland and Ken Ilso. Craig Goodwin is back from Sparta and Ryan Kitto punches above and beyond.  There are good players on this side and Marco Kurz is a very capable manager in his second season at the club. We like the look of this team even though there is work to do. Add more goals and improve on their last season 5th place would be great. Back Adelaide United $13.

No real shock here. Wellington Phoenix are going to have a hell of a time surviving in the Australian domestic competition.  Top scorer Andrija Kaluderovic is out and we very much doubt the return of David Williams from Hungarian club Haladas will enough to propel this team from the bottom of the A-League table. Back Wellington Phoenix $34.

Best Bet Wellington Phoenix Finish Bottom $2.63
