Big market movers for Wentworth by-election
More money has come for the Wentworth by-election at online bookmaker Sportsbet and as a result they have been forced to slash the odds on two candidates.
With less than a week to go, Independent Wentworth candidate Kerryn Phelps has firmed from $3.50 into $2.75 while Labor's candidate for Wentworth, Tim Murray is also enjoying public support tightening in from $10 to $5.50.
But, if the betting is anything to go by, Liberal candidate for Wentworth Dave Sharma is by far the most popular candidate to take control remaining the favourite and currently the best supported in the market despite his odds drifting from $1.33 out to $1.65.
When asked about the betting spokesman Sportsbet said: This is going to be a tight contest on Saturday with Kerryn Phelps really gaining momentum with punter support but Dave Sharma is still holding onto favouritism.
