Catch Me, I Am Immortal ready for Blue Diamond Preludes

It's a significant weekend in the world of racing with top Juveniles taking the stage at Caulfield for their respective divisions of the Blue Diamond Preludes.

Twenty one fillies have been nominated in the Blue Diamond Prelude fillies with Catch Me who looked a potential top notcher when sweeping clear to win the fillies Preview at Caulfield last Saturday week installed as the $2.80 favourite

Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, Catch Me has displaced Brooklyn Hustle $4.50 who took a convincing win at The Valley on debut as favouite and the two clash with Athiri $6 who produced a ripping debut at Rosehill in December.

I Am Immortal

Sixteen nominations for the colts and geldings Prelude with the Anthony Freedman-trained I Am Immortal the early favourite at $3.50 after a striking win in the colts and geldings Preview.

Trainer Phillip Stokes has confirmed jockey Craig Williams will take the ride on Brazen Brando after a fifth place effort in the Preview under Regen Bayliss.

"His last 600(m) last start says he's good enough," Stokes said. "His first barrier trial was really good when we rode him quiet and he finished off well and then I gave him a trial at Pakenham where he was ridden closer and he wasn't as good.

"He's a half to a horse called Serenely Discreet that won an Edward Manifold and came from last. He seems to have the same racing style."

"The 1100 might be a shade short for him, but I'm just trying to get a bit of prize money with him and get him into the Blue Diamond," Stokes added.
