Crawford big favorite to slay Benavidez
WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford is the big favourite to slay undefeated challenger Jose Benavidez Jr in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska on Sunday.
After making easy work of then-WBO titleholder Jeff Horn in June it's hardly surprising that Crawford enters this contest a staggering $1.04 favourite but you’d be doing yourself a disservice to totally ignore Benavidez.
Benavidez, a former interim champion at 140 pounds is clearly a special athlete and the biggest opponent Crawford has ever faced. Boasting an unblemished record the Arizonan will enter the ring with a decided height and reach advantage over Crawford and at the highest paying odds of $9.50.
But make no mistake: we’re not saying Benavidez will get the job done, logic still dictates that Crawford wins at the near unbackable odds of $1.04.
And in other big boxing news the opening bell for the heavyweight mega fight between WBC champion Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury is ringing at Sportsbet. The clash is scheduled for December 1st at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The online bookmaker has WIlder the $1.55 favourite in early markets with Fury rated a $2.35 chance for victory.
