Men's draw and odds for the Australian Open

The Australian Open is very much the highlight of the sporting month with the action kicking off next week so let's have a look at the men's draw and how odds have unfolded.

Roger FedererTop seed Djokovic is aiming for a record seventh men's Australian Open title, he is set to face a qualifier in his opening round and could meet Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the second with a possible clash against Kei Nishikori in the quarter finals.

Defending Champion Roger Federer is aiming for his third consecutive Australian title and will open against Denis Istomin but interestingly, his route to the final may include a match against Marin Cilic who made it to the 2018 final.

Things don’t get much more testing for Australian James Duckworth who is the first-round opponent for world number two Rafael Nadal.

The chief question hanging over the draw is whether a potential blockbuster semifinal between Federer and Rafael Nadal will be scheduled to take place at the end of the month.

Three time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray has made it to the final five times, unseeded on his comeback mission the Scot will be hoping he has more than enough power to cause trouble to Doha champion and 22nd seed Roberto Bautista Agut in his opening match.

Australia’s hopes of having a first hometown champion since 1976 comes with unseeded Nick Kyrgios but his first round match looks a dog fight against big-serving Canadian Milos Raonic, the 16th seed.

Murray is $29.00 to win the 2019 Australian Open, while Federer is priced at $5.50, Djokovic is $2.20 and Nadal is available at $8.50.
