No doubts for Dubious in the Magic Millions Classic

Ciaron Maher and David Eustace have no doubts over the preparation of their unbeaten colt Dubious for Saturday's 1200m dash in the Magic Million Classic on the Gold Coast.

To add to the stables air of confidence the unbeaten colt has been set up perfectly drawn barrier seven for the race and is now the joint $5.50 favourite along with the James Cummings trained filly Exhilarates.

After the draw Maher said: “I’m wrapped with the draw, he’s worked well this week so we’ve ticked another box. His last start really brought him on and stepping up from 1000m to 1200m, with three weeks in between is perfect timing."

“He’s done a lot of travelling, which is good for youngsters to get that experience. He’s had a couple of gallops here to familiarise himself and we’re very happy with him."

“He has the ideal temperament. He’s very chilled, but when the gates open he switches on, which is everything you want in a colt.’’

Meanwhile, unable to secure air transport to Queensland the Darren Weir-trained Yes Yes Yes who is a popular $7 chance is on his way to the track by road accompanied by stablemate Platinum Angel who is available at $10 for the Fillies and Mares (1300m) behind the $3 favourite Manicure.

Racing manager Simon McCartin said: "They've both left and are on their way, it's not ideal but that the way it is."
