Odds on a Vic State Election recount

This weekend's Victorian State Election is down for the count at betting company Sportsbet who have opened a market on how many seats will be recounted.

At least one seat to be recounted is in pole position at $2.20 while a no recount is rated a $3 chance.

Spokesman Sportsbet said: With Labor only needing to lose three seats to cause a hung parliament, we’re tipping there will be at least one recount called in one of the hotly contested seats.

Meanwhile, the odds indicate things will be tight in Morwell between the Independent candiate Russell Northe and the Coalition so Sportsbet have decided to install the seat as the clear favourite to be recounted at $2.50.

One of the main stories of the election is how close it is for the seat of Prahan with the Coalition the Greens and Labor all in with a fighting chance to secure the seat.  As a result, the odds on a recount are tipped as a $2.75 chance.
