Oohood sets the tone for Light Fingers Stakes

Tony McEvoy's Oohood sets the tone for her first-up assignment in the Light Fingers Stakes in two weeks time with a pleasing barrier trial at Rosehill on Tuesday morning.

Cruising through late to finish sixth in heat two, the Group 1 winner rewarded connections with a super run that was viewed by her trainer via video from New Zealand.

"That looked super, I've spoken to Tim Clark and he was very pleased with her and so am I," McEvoy said. "She drew awkwardly and we went back. They went very slow early and she followed The Autumn Sun and then she built past him in the straight.

"I just wanted to see her finish it off, she wasn't there to have a gut buster."

"She'll have another gallop before the Light Fingers and then all being well into the Surround and then the Coolmore Classic," he added.

"The boss (Sheikh Khalifa) is a bit keen to go to Dubai with her - there's a race there, the Dubai Turf - and I'm considering that but he is the boss and if she's in good shape and form then why not."
