Our Libretto tipped to coast home in the Zipping Classic

Things went wrong for Our Libretto in the Matriarch Stakes at Flemington last start but had previously won her first four Australian starts including the Pinker Pinker Plate at Cranbourne.

Our LibrettoThe O’reilly mare was never able to build momentum in the Matriarch Stakes but once she found air she bowled along in the latter stages of the race and did really well to finish seventh, hot on the heels of the leaders. The Zipping Classic is a step up in quality again but she looks primed for the 2400m for the first time to be in the finish.

The Taj Mahal who sits at the top of the betting is her main danger, quickly backing up after fifth in the Caulfield Cup and ninth in the Moonee Valley Gold Cup. Won this race twelve months ago in dominant fashion and will be hard to keep out of the frame.

Here's a chance for Libran to get back to winning ways. Not won for over a year and almost got knocked over in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes but rallied to come a brave third. It just depends what kind of a mark that’s left on him but he’s a very good horse that just needs some luck.

Another in need of some luck is Dal Harraild who finished second in the Bendigo Cup behind Red Alto. He seems to be in really good order so hopefully he’ll run a good race, he has a huge chance and if he can rob a bit of place money we’d be delighted.

Lord Fandango, Sir Isaac Newton, Ventura Storm and Who Shot Thebarman who won the Zipping Classic back in 2015 complete the field for the 2018 Zipping Classic.
