The Autumn Sun untouchable in Caulfield Guineas

The Autumn Sun looks untouchable in Saturday's Group 1 Caulfield Guineas and has attracted the big money punters in the past few days.

Winner of the JJ Atkins in June and a huge eye-catcher when grinding out a professional win in the Golden Rose Stakes, The Autumn Sun looks well suited to deep dive into all the action over a mile at the weekend and a cracking barrier 5 is now factored into the price of $1.85.

“He has travelled down well and settled into the stable and we have thought that the mile would suit him all the way along,” trainer Chris Waller said. “It is another challenge for him on Saturday.”

There are a few dangers though, including some at a big price.

Native Soldier for one has to be respected after wins in the McNeil Stakes and the Caulfield Guineas Prelude. Yes, you have to question if he can run out a strong mile but with a pinch of improvement and some luck his backers could be queuing up at the pay out window.

Muswellbrook could hit the board at a big price after placing in his past five starts including second in the Stutt Stakes. The rumours are that he has more to offer and crucially, is match fit!

The gorgeous Oohood is the only filly in the Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas and her win in the Flight Stakes over 1600 metres is solid boost making her a strong contender for a place here.
