Whittaker vs Gastelum UFC 234 Odds and Predictions

Diehard fans of the sport are marking down UFC's return to Australia as one of the most intriguing main cards in recent memory.

Headlined by the stand-up UFC 234 battle between Aussie Robert Whittaker and American Kelvin Gastelum for the Middleweight title, it's simply the icing on the cake.

And if that statement doesn’t whet the appetite, how about Nigerian-born Kiwi Israel Adesanya set for action against legend Anderson Silva in the Co-Main event?

Who’s your money on?

Kelvin Gastelum

The always-entertaining Kiwi-born Aussie Robert Whittaker is absolutely smoked off the back of 9 straight wins and he’ll be looking to repeat the feat infront of a raucous Melbourne crowd.

The fact that he has delivered 4 impressive knockouts and 2 decision victories over Cuban veteran Yoel Romero and back-to-back knockouts of Derek Brunson and Jacare Souza makes you want to sit and marvel at his excellent finishing ability. He will be hard to beat.

Kelvin Gastelum is riding wins over Michael Bisping and Jacare Souza and to prove that he’s more than capable of mixing it with the very best he has yet to be knocked out in his career.

It’s a fascinating clash, but Whittaker is going to bring his A game on home soil so go for Whittaker by points at $3.40 rather than the skinny $1.40 win.

Prediction  -  Whittaker by points at $3.40

Israel Adesanya

His Performance of the Night Honours in wins over Brad Tavares and Derek Brunson will have Israel Adesanya coming in strong, fit and healthy to this fight and the world will be watching him get the job done.

The Nigerian-born Kiwi sensation had an excellent kickboxing career before moving to MMA winning 13 of 15 of his professional MMA bouts by Knockout. He has the skillset to shine over Anderson Silva and in double-quick time, too.

Arguably one of the greatest Middleweight of all time, Anderson Silva has our immense respect but it's a poorly-kept secret that he has failed to win in 5 of his last 6 fights. Age is catching up and it's questionable if he can last the distance.

Prediction - Adesanya by KO/TKO $1.80
